Dental veneers are thin shells placed on the front of the teeth to correct cosmetic imperfections in your smile.

  • They conceal teeth stained by tobacco, tea, coffee or certain medications.
  • They restore brightness to teeth that have dulled, often with age.
  • They correct slightly overlapping front teeth or gaps between teeth (diastema).
  • They even out the shape and size of teeth, or conceal damaged teeth and overly visible composite fillings.

Veneers are not recommended for young people whose jaws are still growing or for patients with severe bruxism.

  1. Consultation and preview

    The dentist examines your teeth and carries out a smile analysis. A computer simulation or an in-mouth mock-up lets you preview the result before treatment.

  2. Preparation and impression

    A thin layer of enamel is removed under local anesthesia to make room for the veneer. An impression is then sent to the dental lab.

  3. Placing the veneers

    Once custom-made, the veneers are bonded to the teeth with a special adhesive.

Resultsbuilt to last

A ceramic veneer lasts about 10 years on average, and up to 20 years or more with good oral hygiene. At Aura, we favor ceramic, custom-made in Swiss dental labs.

Is getting veneers painful?

Getting veneers usually involves little or no pain. Local anesthesia can be used to keep you comfortable.

How do I take care of my dental veneers?

They need the same care as your natural teeth: brushing two to three times a day, flossing and regular visits to your dentist and dental hygienist.

What is the difference between a veneer and a crown?

A crown covers the entire tooth to restore and strengthen it, while a veneer, placed on the front surface, is mainly used to correct cosmetic flaws.
